The rich reds and antique golds give that cosy traditional feel without making the room too heavy. The simple wing chairs were covered in two fabrics, a striped velvet from Nina Campbell & a textured velvet from Mulberry to give them interest. The colours were reflected in the red shades and antique gold finish of both the Porta Romana lamps and Bella Figura chandelier. For the fire, the client wanted a more contemporary gas fire, so I suggested this gas fireplace that has clean lines and a glass front but doesn’t fight with the original features in this Victorian room. The bookcase was designed and installed by Cabinet Maker Jeff Gorbeck who discussed with us what look we wanted to achieve. This was then painted to compliment the colour on the wall.
